Cupcakes for a Cause is an initiative at Confections of a Cake Lover to raise money and awareness for local charitable and school organizations. We at CCL feel that Meadville and the surrounding community has shown us so much support and we would love to give back!
The concept is simple: a unique cupcake embodying the chosen organization is offered to the general public during an entire month. $1 of every cupcake sold is donated to the organization.
Our first Cupcake for a Cause initiative began in June of 2013. During that month, The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life cupcake was unveiled: a white cupcake with blackberry lemon buttercream topped with a fondant star and moon. We raised $122...that's over 10 dozen cupcakes!
If your organization is interested in working with CCL to raise money for your cause, please download and complete our application form below.
We have raised substantial funds for groups such as The American Cancer Society, CASA, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Healing Hearts of Crawford County, Oil Region Ballet, several anti-bullying campaigns, and much more.
As of 2020, over $3,000 has been raised!

In 2019, Confections of a Cake Lover created a program in partnership with the Yolanda Barco Oncology Center in Meadville to honor the men and women fighting against cancer. The "Treats after Treatment" program gives a free dozen cupcakes or cookies voucher to anyone who "rings the bell" up at Yolanda Barco after they've completed their chemotherapy and/or radiation treatments. The survivor then calls CCL to redeem their voucher so they have some added sweetness to their celebrating!
This program hits close to our heart: Sarah's (owner of CCL) mom is a stage 4 cancer fighter. This program is to thank her for all of the love and support she has given the bakery over the years.
